Nesting, Decorating, and Blogging.

I am really in the nesting and holiday decorating mood. So much so that I spent forever trying to find the perfect holiday theme for this blog. I hope you like it as much as I do. It’s fun and different. I found this on Jackboot, very nice themes and instructions.

I’m a little spooked out. A parody of The View is on Saturday Night Live. Not sure which is worse, the parody or the actual show. Yeeeugh.

Aaaanyway…I have been trying to catch up on all of my blogs tonight. This week has been nothing but crazy contractions, cramps, and just total pregnancy weirdness. Couldn’t think straight the entire week. Everytime I sat down another cramp hit. I swear a few times I thought this kid was going to come during Thanksgiving cooking. It is like labor just keeps stopping and starting. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was what was happening.

With my first, I went into labor and it stopped a few times. Took a full week for it to kick in right. That was the only labor that I had which went ‘properly’. With my next two, one broke her water by kicking hard and then her sister nothing but a lot of pitocin could get her out. She was a week overdue! Then lil Robbie was an emergency C-section. This pregnancy is feeling quite a bit like the first.

I did get the kitchen close to how I want it, though. For ages I have used the windowsill over the sink as a catchall for kid medicine and other doo-dads I use a lot. Kept wishing that I just had a line of candles across it, but never really did anything to remedy it. Rob brought home a bag of jarred candles on Thanksgiving for me, so I finally had enough to go across. I never realized it would be so relaxing at night to sit here at the table and blog by candlelight. It really is peaceful, especially after a day of the kids being nutters.

The living room is nice, too. We still need to get a tee. We’re are probably going with an artificial. I don’t want to get another real one to end up tossing out. Such a waste and no places around here have plantable ones. The artificial will last for years, our last one was a hand-me-down from Rob’s mom. She only used it once! We stored it in their place and when we moved, his dad threw it out by mistake. At least prices are reasonable this year for them.

The kids are really in the Christmas groove. As soon as I started putting up the snowflakes, they went nuts. Terisa keeps asking if she can have her presents! We have to explain every day that it isn’t Christmas yet, her birthday comes first. Then we end up talking about that for a while, to which she moves the convo to her new brother who comes /after/ her birthday. Man, our December is full.

Oh and something cool happened a few days ago. Deb Ng from Freelance Writing Jobs wrote and asked for my address. I won their Dunkin Donuts Coffee basket! I love winning stuff, doesn’t happen too often and with the month I have had, this was such a nice surprise. I can’t wait to try the flavors! Hey, what is better for a blogger with a blog, Not Enough Coffee?

Amber and Fragile X

It seems we did not receive some paperwork on Amber we should have gotten 2 years ago. I am not a happy camper. Amber has many characteristics of a child with Fragile-X Syndrome and in the paperwork it was strongly suggested we have her test. Her doctor had only mentioned it in passing. But, these evaluators seemed to think she may very well be an FXS child.

Nice to know so late after the fact, right?

So, anyway, I am posting a sparkly Spongebob for Amber today. She loves Spongebob and the color green and this little gif has the best of both worlds, plsu I can bring her here anytime to see it.

Enjoy the 'bob!

Well, Life Stinks

I don't know what we're doing about Christmas this year. The kids are all excited about Santa and Christmas. I don't have the heart to tell them Santa might not even show up.

Bills, low paying jobs, and not being paid. Life of the freelancer, huh? Not to mention having people living with us who refuse to do their part.

I did have an idea to go through all of the junk upstairs and in the basement and just post a ton of junk on craigslist for a buck a pop. It's hilarious, though. I see the same stuff posted on CL or eBay going for a ton of money while I never get more than one or two bids, if that. I do the same thing they do...nothing.

I still have ten articles to do before the end of the month, but that payment is going to have a chunk taken out of it before I get it. Not to mention payment date changed on me, so it won't come until I am already in the hospital with Lucas.

I'm tired of low rates. I'm tired of getting the run around with payments. I'm tired of the economy being so bad there are no jobs here for hubby to work. I'm tired of paying the highest gas prices in the nation (supposedly). I'm tired of the inlaws taking advantage of us. I'm tired of not being able to buy enough groceries/clothes/have hot water.

Yeah, I said hot water. A few people knew, but we haven't had hot water in over a year. We have to heat it on the darned stove. Why? None of the inlaws that live with us could help pay the gas bill, but when their electric was going to be shut off, I paid off their ENTIRE bill. Over a grand. We heat with those stupid little electric heaters because some guy backed out on selling us a woodstove last year.

Maybe I'll take up a collection one day at the church. Oh wait, I don't go to church. Pfeh, even God doesn't like me.

Ok, end whining.

So...

It's been one of those days. I think everyone has them. Not too bad, not too great, just sort of blah from start to finish. I am going to be updating my Everyday Economis blog, that will probably be more interesting than this.

Wow. I am boring today. Sorry :-(

I'm Here. Sortof.

It's been one thing after another. Changed phone service only to have it conk out after a week. Took Verizon another two weeks to get out here to figure out what was wrong. Seems that there are two different lines running into my house. When something is done to one, it blows out the other. Obviously the second line was put in years ago and never labeled as a second line. Hopefully it is all resolved now, lord knows I need a phone now. With Amber being special, in school, and going on field trips for one and with me being near the end of the pregnancy for another reason.

I took a pretty hard fall on Sunday. Blew out the muscles and ligaments in my hips that are around the womb. Lucky me! Probably the first time I've been really thankful for a wreck I was in years ago that forced me to strengthen other muscles to make up for others that were very damaged. Still needing to watch for pre-term labor now, but I'm far enough along that things would be ok. Not perfect, but ok. Sore, but Tylenol is my friend.

I submitted an article to Unique Magazine, an online publication for parents of special needs kids. I was pretty thrilled when they accepted my work. A subscription costs $3 USD a month, but 1/3 of their prroceeds go to charities for special needs. I'm impressed with anyone who helps families with special needs kids. If you want to check them out, go to Unique Magazine and you'll see an short excerpt from my article, Friday Morning Apocalypse.

I also started a new website. It is a frugal/cheap site. I'm a bit upset because the Adsense doesn't seem to be working right on any page but the first. Must have screwed something up in the iframe. Bleh. If you want to check it out, hop on over to Everyday Economics.

It still needs work, but I'm gettting it going! Even have 3 articles up.

Ok, so I need to add this blog to my Twitterfeed. Oh and I am going to be probably buying a site for this blog, too. Either that or a parenting site.

OH, did I mention we have 3 new kitties? A black fuzzy, an orange fuzzy tabby, and a silver fuzzy tabby? In order of the colors: Loki (Rob Jr's), Punkin (Amber's), and Cloudy (Terisa's). Rob and I named Loki, but Terisa and Amber named theirs. I am so happy because Amber has never attempted to name a doll, or anything at all. That's a big step!

Ok folks, I must go forth into the world of job/gig seeking. If you happen to know of something I might be right for, hit my comments! I'd appreciate it, especially now. I'll update about why another time.
