The Coffee, It glistens!

My Pretty Girls.

Best. Coffee. Ever.

My coffee from Marye over at Kettle and Cup came in yesterday. I didn't get to try it then, but I did today.

Oh. My. God.

It smelled delicious just in the bag, which I did take pictures of. I'll post them tomorrow when I size them down. The beans are so shiny! I don't have a coffee grinder, but I found out you can grind the beans to a perfect consistency in a blender. It needs to be a good blender! Just whir it on chop for a minute, then on grate. Voila!

I literally used nearly half the bag to brew up a full pot. Remember, my coffeemaker does 36 cups! I am so glad I made so much, everyone loved it. In fact, I'm going to go make a cup now. If she ever starts selling it, I will be a loyal customer.

And if anyone wants to help me bug her until she starts selling, go post a ton of comments at her blog begging her to sell this perfect roast!

Are You Kidding Me?

I am sick to death of sites that charge freelancers to give them job details. Sick, sick, sick of it.

I'm of the opinion that we freelancers should be helping one another. I don't think charging another writer for tips or job leads is right. Writing a book is one thing, but a website with job leads? A monthly or yearly fee? Get over it. Charge the advetisers, not the writers.

Instead of complaining, I think I'll do something about it. Stay tuned.

Cookbook Contest!!!

Hey, today is the last day to get yourself hooked up for Marye's cookbook contest over at Baking Delights. All you have to do is post about the contest with a link back, then comment! Easy? Huh?

Oh...you want to know about the prize? Well, then get your tail over there and read about it! Join up quickly, this is going to be great!

Here's the link! Cook Book Contest!

I Won Some Coffee!

Marye over at www.kettleandcup.com is the Queen of Cool in my coffee world as of right this second! I blogged a while back about how she was running a contest and winners would get a 1 pound bag of her custom roasted blend.

Well, guess what? Ok, I know my title says I won some coffee, but that's not the coolest part. See, Friday the 14th was my 7th wedding anniversary and I won then. Yep, very awesomeness cool, in a big bag. I am excited to try it, I haven't ever had coffee that was roasted just for me. Marye, you rock. I wish I'd paid attention to the blog on friday, I would have known before now. I don't mind if it comes in after xmas, I will have something to look forward to, not to mention something to relax with after all of the hoo-ha.

Working.

I've been working my tail off lately. Trying out Demand Studios right now, they seem promising. I also picked up a new blogging gig which pays pretty decently for a start up blog. I am using a pen name, but a few people know where to find me. It is an adult blog, so it's not one I plan to advertise freely.

The Tea blog has been fun. I have a ton of new teas that I love, plus on Friday the 14th a Tea Pillow arrived for me to try out. It's really cool, a regular sized pillow filled with tea! It is very firm, so it is taking a bit of getting used to. I'll be writing a review on it soon, so check out www.teaavenue.com/blog for my review on it. There are other reviews there by other writers, but I am listed by name. Look for tea recipes, too!

Family Resource is still my favorite blog. It doesn't pay as much as the new job, but I still love it. I need to update it, but the holidays have been really working their stress magic around here. From what I have seen with all of my writer friends, it's the same with them. I hope you all are doing well, having a great time of it, and I hope the stress lifts from everyone soon.

Hey, the AW Holiday Gift Exchange looks to be a great sucess! I am thinking of running another one, soon. Maybe for Valentine's Day. Not everyone has a Valentine, so getting a little something from a friend would be lovely.

Ok, off to see the wizard! Take care and can everyone who visits leave their blog link for me to re-add to the blogroll? If you are not on the AW Blogroll, that is.

Man, Am I Tired

I can't seem to find the time to do much of anything these days. I even wrote a post about it on Family Resource. Tried to work a lot of humor into it. If you pop by there, drop me a comment there to let me know if the humor works.

I have a lot on my plate. It's not the work, it's the way things are around here. I can't find time to just get things done that I need to.

How do you cope?

New Look.

I'm trying out a new template, just because I like the smooth browns and the coffee cup. What do you think?

I'm having a few issues with it, because the template is beta. My blogroll is gone, but I will place everything back shortly.

Holiday Letters For Kids!

I am offering a special for all NEC readers!

I am really in the Holiday spirit this year and most of you know that I also do graphics along with my writing so here’s the deal for you all!

If you have children or any other family members who you would love to send a holiday letter to, like a letter from Santa, I will design and write a custom letter for you!

The letter will:

Have special Holiday graphics, custom made for your child (or anyone else). The graphics will be on the top of the letter and down the sides if you wish.

Letter tailored to your recipient. It can mention wishes they have made, presents they have asked for, and be generally encouraging.

You choose the colors!

You choose the holiday!

So what is so special about this? Well, most sites want to charge you around $20. Of course, they mail the letter and it has a North Pole postmark in some cases. What I am doing is making the letter as a .jpeg file for YOU to print and place in your mailbox, child’s room, or mail directly to whomever. This cuts cost for all involved.

Kids who are small really do not care about a postmark, they probably have no clue what it means. All that matters is that they have a letter from Santa.

I am charging ONE dollar for readers here. Yep, ONE dollar for anyone who comes to this blog and requests a letter. I accept Paypal. If you do not have Paypal we can make arrangements for other methods or barter.

Drop me a comment if you want a letter or email me (writingallnight@gmail.com)! You can tell me exactly how to design your letter, I can even take pictures that you send and incorporate them.

Once you have made a request, I will send you my Paypal address. When payment is received your design will be sent to you.

Happy holidays!

Some Tea Reviews!

I plan to post links to my reviews to make them easier to find. The Tea Avenue blog is a tea of tasters, so here are the links to the ones they have published by me so far. I am currently working on a Passionate Sugar Cookie, so check back soon if you love tea recipes!

1. Everything Nice About Spice

2. Creamy Chai Poundcake

3. A Passionate Experience

I just got in a box of samples today, so I'll be posting more reviews and working on even more recipes soon!

Kettle And Cup

Ok, so this blog is called Not Enough Coffee, but I haven't really blogged about coffee.

All that is about to change. Marye from & Babes has launched a new blog called Kettle and Cup. Normally I wouldn't get worked up over a coffee blog, but she really won me over by have a big post on Green Mountain Coffees. Not only were they Green Mtn Brand, but it was SPICE blends.

I must wipe off the keyboard now. I'm drooling.

Marye brings a real sense of humor to a coffee blog. It isn't stuffy and full of technical stuff like, "This brew is from the armpit of Bolivia and tastes of Civet Poop with a slight floral bouquet." No way. She has the coolest sugar cubes posted, too. (I may be partial to her since she has a bajillion kids, a slightly larger herd than mine. Ok, double the herd.) Be sure to check it out...oh...and...

There is a contest for the month of December, too. A weekly one. I won't tell you about it, you have to visit! Tell her Julie sent ya!
